I have to admit that I feel a great love for this awesome animal. The beauty, majesty and elegance of the tiger combined with the infinite tenderness that these animals are capable of transmitting, move me deeply.
It is very sad to say that the biggest threat to this animal, now in danger of extinction, is the human being.
The global population in the wild is estimated to number between 3,062 and 3,948 individuals, down from around 100,000 at the start of the 20th century. Major reasons for population decline include habitat destruction, habitat fragmentation and poaching.
It’s in our hands to help this and other animal species do not disappear forever from our planet.
We still have much to learn from them.
