Marie-Antoinette: Carnet secret d’une reine by Benjamin Lacombe

It’s not the first time the name of Benjamin Lacombe appears on my blog and surely will not be the last. This young French illustrator has chosen for his latest work to the Archduchess of Austria, the last Queen of France and Navarre, famous and controversial woman became a myth: Marie Antoinette. Decided to dive into the fascinating privacy of this Woman of France, Benjamin Lacombe imagine the diary of Marie Antoinette with the help of the watchful eye of Cécile Berly, historian and specialist Marie Antoinette.

With a carefully and gorgeous manufacturing, this beautiful book of unprecedented wealth graphics (paintings, watercolors, sketches) will combine some of the authentic letters of Marie Antoinette, to those, fictitious, Count Fersen with whom she had a special relationship.

Here are some of his illustrations which I’m sure will not pass unnoticed. Pure art magic.
