The name of the Spanish illustrator Ana Juan has appeared in my blog several times. This great artist with a huge international presence has collaborated, among many other publications, with the New Yorker for who has made several covers.
Besides her work on the editorial side, she has illustrated children’s books and adult. Red Riding Hood, Snow White or Essential Tales of Guy de Maupassant or Mr. Wakefield are wonderful examples about her talent. In 2013, Fondo de Cultura Economica in Mexico published masterpiece of Sheridan Le Fanu, Carmilla, illustrated by Ana Juan.
Carmilla is a Gothic story written by the Irishman Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. The author of many stories of horror and mystery was based on the story of the famous countess Elizabeth Bathory to create this short novel which immerses us in a story where the mystery, horror and eroticism is mixed.
The new edition of this seductive classic Gothic book borne by the Siruela publishing and goes on sale on 14 October, at least in Spain. This edition features more of 30 amazing and masterfully illustrations of Ana Juan,
